Pirate Nation,
My hope is that each of you enjoys this Thanksgiving Holiday by embracing loved ones and truly reflecting on the many blessings we experience. Given the challenges that many of us have faced over the past year, it is essential to identify and appreciate the growing pains that have come with this current reality. If nothing else, this time has allowed us to genuinely appreciate the interactions, smiles, and traditions that many of us take for granted.
As you begin this season, take a moment to reflect with those who mean the most. More importantly, I want to express my appreciation to each stakeholder in the Chilton ISD for helping us to make this year as successful as it has been. Take a moment to watch the brief video clip.

Good Afternoon Pirate Nation. Many families will receive a Socioeconomic Information Form in the mail. This form provides the district with essential demographic data that impacts several funding areas for the Chilton ISD. Additionally, this information impacts the availability of several programs in our district, like the CEP program that allows all students to eat breakfast and lunch at no cost. These meal programs are essential to the Chilton ISD and the families we serve. If you receive this form in the mail, please complete it and send it to campus with your child on Monday, October 26, 2020. Thank you for your assistance with this process.

Pirate Nation,
In an effort to maintain the health and safety of our community, we will continue with virtual learning through Friday, October 23, 2020. Over the weekend of October 9th through 11th we saw an increase to 18 active cases within the Chilton ISD community. By remaining closed another week, we anticipate most of these cases to resolve and the active infection rate to approach 0% before a full return. In addition, there are several additional actions that we are taking to ensure the safety of students and staff members:
• We have installed the Ecoloxtech hypochlorous acid machines and we are working to place foggers in each classroom that will allow safe, intermittent disinfection of all classrooms prior to transitions.
• On Monday, October 19, 2020 Chilton ISD nursing personnel will begin training to implement in-district, rapid COVID-19 testing for students and staff members in the Chilton ISD for an added layer of safety.
• The Chilton ISD is anticipating the addition of a CNA position to monitor and meet the healthcare needs of students and staff members within the Chilton ISD community more adequately.
While we continue to take these measures to ensure a safe campus learning environment, we encourage all families to ensure responsible practices while in the community. Contact tracing has revealed that over 75% of cases connected to the Chilton ISD originated outside of the district. This public health crisis will require all of us working collaboratively to ensure a safe learning environment for our students.
The following athletic activities will resume beginning Monday, October 19, 2020:
• Junior Varsity and Varsity practices from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. We are working to update our volleyball schedule.
• Junior Varsity and Varsity football practices from 4:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Please note that the next varsity football game is scheduled for Wednesday, October 21, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. versus Frost at the Chilton ISD Athletic Complex.
For all student athletes, coaches, and sponsors, gaiters are now a requirement during practice and competition. There will be no exceptions. Please understand that the failure to comply will result in suspension from extra-curricular activities.
Additionally, teachers will be allowed to work from classrooms beginning Monday, October 19, 2020. However, temperature checks and clock-in procedures will be strictly enforced. Additionally, face coverings will continue to be required when using common areas and/or when social distancing is not possible.
There are still hotspots available for families without access to internet. Elementary parents can call 254-546-1225 or email cross@chiltonisd.org. Secondary parents can call 254-546-1224 or email jsharp@chiltonisd.org.
If you have any additional questions, please contact bhubbard@chiltonisd.org or call 254-546-1227. Thank you all for your support and flexibility as we continue to navigate this public health crisis.
Brandon K. Hubbard, Superintendent of Schools
Chilton ISD

The Chilton ISD is pleased to announce our partnership with Virtual Care for Families. This partnership will allow the Chilton ISD to administer rapid COVID testing to students and staff members with results back in approximately 15 minutes. This level of care is very similar to the care that is available for college and professional teams. In addition to rapid testing, students and staff members will have access to virtual medical care from board certified medical doctors. We all that is going on, our goal is continued to provide your students with the safest possible learning environment while working to eliminate the burden back and forth transportation to doctor visits. Please review the attached documents. In order for your child to participate, if needed, you will be required to complete an online consent form. If you have any questions regarding this partnership, please contact Mr. Hubbard at 254-546-1227 or bhubbard@chiltonisd.org. We will continue to reimagine rural education during this time to ensure that our students and staff are as safe as possible.

Marvelous Monday to All of Pirate Nation. Here's hoping that all things went well during Day 1 of our Virtual Learning week. Parents...hang in there!
We are working hard to ensure that we have more protections in place as we plan to re-enter on Monday, October 19, 2020. We are sure that our hypochlorous acid machines and classroom foggers will be installed and functional. In addition, we are working to secure air purification technology for classrooms and other gathering areas. In addition, administration will continue review our practices to make sure that the Chilton ISD provides a safe learning environment for our staff members and our students.
If you need access to hotspots, please contact your campus principal to ensure set-up. Thank you, Pirate Nation, for your flexibility during this time. We look forward to seeing you all on Monday, October 19, 2020. Parents...Stay Strong!

Good Evening Pirate Nation. This evening the Chilton ISD received notice that a male, varsity athlete tested positive for COVID-19. Based upon information gathered from the student and family, we have ascertained the student was likely infected outside of school over the weekend. Despite our confidence that the student was not infected on campus, the student attended school through 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 and varsity football practice on Monday and Tuesday evenings.
As a result, we are contact tracing and will require all individuals with whom the student might have had close contact to quarantine. Close contact is defined as being within 6 feet for a cumulative 15 minutes without a face covering. Those coaches and students for whom this is applicable will be contacted by Chilton ISD administration to discuss this transition to virtual learning. At present, we are suspending all football activities until further notice and will transition all varsity football players to remote learning pending further review of the situation. The Chilton ISD will offer on-site testing for those varsity players, coaches, and any other students who may have been in close contact with the infected student. For testing appointments, please contact Nurse Melissa Bobo at mbobo@chiltonisd.org.
Unfortunately, the varsity contest between Hubbard and Chilton scheduled for tomorrow evening in Hubbard will be postponed. Though our student-athletes, cheerleaders, and band members have worked hard to prepare for tomorrow’s performance, we do not want to risk the health of any of our student-athletes, coaches, or spectators.
For additional information regarding COVID-19 numbers in the Chilton ISD, please visit the Chilton ISD website (www.chiltonisd.org). As always, our thoughts and prayers are with those individuals battling this illness. If you have any additional questions, please contact Brandon Hubbard at bhubbard@chiltonisd.org or 254-546-1227.

Good Morning Chilton ISD Family. On Sunday, August 16, 2020 the Chilton ISD was notified of an employee and student-athlete (within the same residence) exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. At that time, Chilton ISD Administration enacted established procedures in response to an employee or student showing COVID-19 symptoms. On Monday, August 17, 2020, the Chilton ISD Administration was notified that symptoms increased for the employee and that the student-athlete received a positive result from rapid testing. Even though no other employees and students within the Chilton ISD is exhibiting symptoms and those with a positive result or exhibiting symptoms are within the same household, we are taking the following actions:
• The Chilton ISD will close all buildings for deep sanitation and cleaning for 72 hours. We are asking all teachers, paraprofessionals, and administration to work from home over the next 72 hours.
• Those student-athletes and employees directly impacted by this situation have been personally notified.
• We will continue with the COVID-19 Testing Clinic in the gymnasium on Friday, August 21, 2020. Today is the final day to sign up for testing in Chilton ISD.
• We will postpone the start of in-person instruction until after the Clinic and all results are back.
• For now, all girls athletic events are cancelled through Friday, August 21, 2020.
Posted Below is a Tentative Schedule of Events within the Chilton ISD:
• Tuesday, August 18, 2020 thru Thursday, August 20, 2020: District Facilities closed for Deep Sanitation and Administrative Contact Tracing
• Friday, August 21, 2020: Chilton ISD Community COVID Clinic. The Mandatory meeting for virtual students will be postponed until the following Friday.
• Monday, August 24, 2020: COVID Testing Results arrive within the portal (School start date will be postponed)
• Tuesday, August 25, 2020 thru Friday, August 28, 2020: Staff development resumes
• Thursday, August 27, 2020: Open House Event. We will use the same schedule as posted for Thursday, August 20, 2020.
• Monday, August 31, 2020: School starts In-Person or Virtually for Chilton ISD
Though we believe that our protocols and processes have limited the transmission of COVID-19 within our district, we are postponing our start until testing confirms what we believe. Though I am anxious to get school started for our students, I am committed to moving as slow as we must to ensure that our procedures are effective in mitigating the spread within our district. At present, no other employees or student-athletes are exhibiting symptoms of COVID-19. Thus, I am cautiously optimistic that our sanitation plan, PPE requirements, and other protocols are working as planned. We will continue to make adjustments and adaptations toward the safety of all Chilton ISD stakeholders. The Administrative is continuing to work out details of all schedule adjustments.

I need all who can to join me at 2:00 p.m. for an important zoom meeting that will update our current re-entry plans for the Chilton ISD. Please see the link below for information:

Pirate Nation please see the message below from Coach James:
As we continue to assess the count in COVID cases in our area we believe that it will be in the best interest of our athletes and staff to prolong the suspension of our summer strength & conditioning program. Upon the re-start of workouts on 7/27, we will only extend an invite to our incoming 9th-12th grade to insure proper distancing protocol. We strongly encourage athletes to remain active in obtaining goals set for themselves. As before, we will start at 8AM. All athletes will be responsible for face coverings, and water bottles. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Coach James.....PRIDE goes a long way. GO PIRATES!

The Chilton ISD wishes to express our deepest condolences to the family, friends, and classmates of Oscar Gutierrez. Oscar was a class of 2013 Chilton Alumnus. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

Congratulations to Shawna Daniels and De’Auntre Davis for signing with Jarvis Christian College (volleyball) and McLennan Community College (basketball), respectively. You two have represented Pirate Nation well on and off the court. We look forward to the best of your story.

Good Evening Pirate Nation,
Effective Monday, July 6, 2020, all students, employees, and visitors to Chilton ISD facilities will be required to wear face coverings. This requirement is in an effort to comply with Governor Abbott's executive order. Staff members will be allowed to take off face coverings when working in isolation or when eating. Students will be allowed to take off face coverings when exercising and eating. We anticipate this order will persist throughout the remainder of the summer. We are working to develop a comprehensive plan for school reopening. We anticipate the release of our reopening plan on Tuesday, July 14, 2020. Thank you for your continued patience and support.

Good Afternoon Pirate Nation,
Registration for the 2020-2021 school year begins Monday, July 6, 2020. Registration will be held Monday thru Thursday from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. We are asking all new and returning students to Chilton ISD complete the registration process. Returning students can begin the process online via parent portal or traditionally in the Central Administration office. However, students new to the district will be required to register in person due to document verification requirements. Because we are planning for the school year, we ask that all parents complete this process as soon as possible. Please note that beginning July 6, 2020, all visitors to Chilton ISD facilities will be required to wear face coverings for the safety of students and staff members. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Canada at 254-546-1228 or lcanada@chiltonisd.org.

Good Evening Pirate,
As an additional precaution, we will be suspending strength and conditioning workouts through July 13, 2020. Though we have had no positive results for COVID 19 as a result of our workouts, we are suspending our workouts in an abundance of caution given the current rise in cases in the Centeal Texas area. We are tremendously enthused by the hard work and commitment of our student-athletes, but we want to continue to evaluate our practices to ensure we are taking every measure to keep our students safe. If you have any questions concerning workouts, please contact Coach James.
Be responsible and stay safe!

Please see an update from the Chilton ISD Athletic Director, Chris James, regarding Strength and Conditioning Workouts:
June 15, 2020
Dear Parents, Athletes, and Athletic Personnel,
Thank you for an amazing start to our 2020-2021 athletic programs. We have had tremendous attendance during our first week of summer conditioning and workouts. After one week of evaluating our programs and setup, there are a few changes that we will need to make:
1. We will extend our check-in stations toward the main parking lot of the secondary campus. We want to ensure that all students are screened before they begin interacting with students and personnel.
2. During the screening process, we are going to require all athletic personnel and students to wear face coverings. We urge cloth, reusable coverings. However, disposable coverings are appropriate. Coverings must be worn during check-in, during station rotations, and during interactions with other in which social distancing cannot be maintained. Students can remove masks during intense, individual workouts and drills.
3. After check-in and temperature scans, students should sanitize hands prior to interacting with staff and other students presents.
The Chilton ISD Athletic Personnel will continue to sanitize all equipment and stations during rotations. Additionally, we will continue to have students sanitize hands after each station rotation. As we work through refining our processes, we will continue to keep you informed regarding changes. We will continue to have some disposable masks on hand for this week, however, we encourage all parents to ensure that students have access to masks in the upcoming weeks for strength and conditioning workouts. If you have any questions, please contact me at 254-546-1214 or via email at cjames@chiltonisd.org.

Good Morning Pirate Nation. This week we are back to implementing our remote learning plans for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year. Please remember that even though the buildings are closed, teaching and learning must continue. For the week of April 20, 2020 remote learning plans are as follows:
Elementary (Per Mrs. Ross)
There will not be any new packets available for students this week. The elementary campus will focus on giving students the opportunity to catch up on the previous learning packets distributed. It is critical that students complete and return those assignments to ensure that teachers can evaluate student progress and performance. Option and enrichment learning opportunities will be available on the district website. Please check with your child’s teacher about any work your child may be missing. Completed work can be returned to the elementary campus daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For questions or concerns, please call 254-546-1225.
Secondary (Per Mrs. Sharp)
New assignments will be available for secondary students on Monday, April 20, 2020. Assignments will be available in traditional paper formats and via online platforms. Packet distribution and return will be from 12:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2020 and from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. all other days. Mrs. Sharp will be in Marlin on Tuesday, April 21 from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Please visit the news section of the Chilton ISD website (www.chiltonisd.org) or the district Facebook page for additional information.
Athletes, Coach James will be available to distribute resistance bands and jump ropes for athletes to support conditioning during closure. Please remember that if you want to be a champion, you must work like a champion. Your character is not defined by what you do when others are watching. Your character is who you are when no one is watching.
Also, seniors, Mrs. Lipsey will be available from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. to distribute graduation orders. Please stay tuned as we are working on a plan for graduation. Plans will be finalized after we receive additional guidelines from the governor.
Thank you for your flexibility during these unprecedented times. As always Pirate Nation, please remember, that #WeRefuseToSink.

We Are Chilton Strong!

Good Afternoon Pirate Nation,
I hope everyone had a restful and relaxing Easter break. For the week of April 14, 2020 we are going to pause and focus on creating a virtual community and some social and emotional aspects that make the Chilton Community strong. For this week, teachers will not assign any additional assignments. However, those students who are behind should use this week as an opportunity to catch up and get assistance from teachers where needed. Though we are not making any additional assignments, teachers will still be available for contact for questions regarding assignments.
Beginning Tuesday, April 14, 2020, we will post several motivational and academically engaging activities for the Chilton community and our staff and students. The schedule will be as follows:
At 10:00 a.m. each morning, there will be a community zoom with Mr. Hubbard. The community zoom will focus on having fun and completing virtual activities as a Chilton ISD community. All students, staff, parents, and community members are welcomed to attend.
At 11:00 a.m. each morning, there will be a Motivational Moment from a community or Chilton ISD staff member. This Motivational Moment will be posted to the district Facebook page.
At 1:00 p.m. each afternoon, the Chilton ISD will post elementary and secondary academic activities that are engaging and fun. These activities are designed to cause students, parents, and teachers to think “outside the box” and have fun learning.
Finally, each afternoon, we will post a reflection activity based upon our 7 Mindsets curriculum. This activity will encourage students to write and reflect on their current situations and how their mindset can help or hinder their situation. We encourage all students, parents, teachers, administrators, and community members to engage in these activities.
More importantly, for community engagement, each of the days this week will have a theme: The themes are as follows:
Tuesday: TikTok Tuesday. Each student and staff member are encouraged to create a school appropriate TikTok video showing Chilton ISD Spirit. After created, please email the video to Mr. Hubbard. We will attempt to post as many videos of our students and staff members showing school spirit in new and unusual ways.
Wednesday: Drop Everything And Read (DEAR) Wednesday. Take a picture of yourself reading in your favorite place. After created, please email your pictures to Mr. Hubbard.
Thursday: Thankful Thursday. Use your social media platform, text message, sticky notes, create signs, or whatever means available to compose messages to show appreciation to those first responders and essential workers making sacrifices to meet needs during the pandemic.
Friday: Celebrate Us Friday. Send a message to at least five staff members and students letting them know how they enrich your life as a member of Chilton ISD. As a culminating event for our Celebrate Us Friday, we are planning a parade to reach out to our Marlin family. We will post a schedule a routes prior to Friday.
We want to remind all of Chilton ISD that our community matters. More importantly, the Chilton ISD is strong because our people are strong! #ChiltonStrong #RefuseToSink

Mindset Thought For Today:
Adversity is a catalyst for creativity. It is the breeding ground of personal growth. When we interviewed men and women of success and happiness, they always pointed to times of great adversity; when they built the skills, developed the Mindsets, or forged the relationships that ultimately defined their success. How can we take this time of uncertainty, fear, and challenge; and use it as a building block for a better life and a better world?

If you’re in a tough situation in life or going through a lot of things, never give up! Pick yourself up and push yourself through it. He reminds you that you’re not alone and you can always reach out to him, your parents, and most importantly, God. Keep your heads up and finish strong (in school, athletics, work, and life)!
Congrats, Kevin! Your Pirate Legacy will not be forgotten!

Sorry Pirate Nation,
I meant to schedule that message for tomorrow morning. I'm a bit of a night owl and program my messages to go out the next morning. Ooops!

Good Morning Parents and Guardians of Elementary Students:
Please visit the Chilton ISD website for specific information regarding accessing the google classroom platform for your child's teacher. Lectures will be posted that will assist students in completing their assignments. Additionally, classroom office hours are posted that will allow additional contact with teachers. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Candice Ross at cross@chiltonisd.org. More detailed information can be found at in the news section of the Chilton ISD website.

Good Morning Pirate Nation,
Thank you to everyone working to ensure that our school continues to operate and that our students continue to experience learning. Assignments for the week of March 30, 2020 are now accessible online and packets are available for pickup on each campus. Both campuses will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Monday and Tuesday for assignment pick-up and drop-off. Additionally, administration will be present at the Marlin Dollar Tree location from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday for assignment pickup and drop-off.
As we move forward, we are not certain as to how long we have to operate remotely. Since that is the case, parents, please anticipate that our core teachers are taking, at least, two grades per week on assignments and elective teachers will take, at least, one grade weekly. In order to ensure that we are not required to make up time during the summer sessions, it is essential that we continue to ensure that our students are learning and that we are working to hold each other accountable during this transition. Contact information and virtual office hours are posted in the documents section of the Chilton ISD website in the COVID-19 folder. If you have any questions, please contact your campus principal or the district superintendent.
Teachers have arranged and posted zoom schedules to hold class sessions with students during this time of closure. The secondary teacher zoom schedules are posted in the COVID-19 folder on the district website. Please see the folder for the week of March 30.
We are working to expand our outside internet capabilities for students to access from the parking lot. This will allow students and families to access WiFi by driving onto the school premises. The idea is to maintain social distancing requirements while providing access to internet. We are continuing to work to find additional solutions that will serve our students well.
Thank you for your cooperation and flexibility during this time.

A Message From Mrs. Sharp:
Pirate Nation:
Here we go again for round 2 of work packets! Our teachers have done their part and SEVERAL students have already turned in their packets EARLY from this week! Parents and students can continue to turn in packets next week at the High School office for grades 6-12 starting at 11:30 Monday, March 23. At that time they can pick up the new learning packets and the online assignments will also be posted on the district website. Remember they only have to do one or the other, but not both online and paper packets 😀
Students who have NOT attempted either forms of work..... shame on you! You are a Pirate 🏴☠️ and we expect MORE of you. I will be making phone calls and home visits to get you back in the learning Mindset. Please email jsharp@chiltonisd.org if you have questions or issues with getting learning packets.

I certainly pray that everyone is safe and healthy during these times! Please let your child(ren) know that Ms. Ross and our teaching staff misses them so much! We can’t wait until this is over!!!! Please encourage your child(ren) to read daily! We will be sending resources home over the next couple of weeks to help with that!!!!
Also, we will have a fresh round of work packets available on Monday and Tuesday from 11:00-6:00PM at the elementary building. Additional packets will be left outside the elementary entrance if those pick up times do not accommodate your schedule. You can also turn in your child’s packets from March 16-20 (if they are finished). Please make sure your child’s name and grade are on their packets. We will ensure those get to your child’s teacher to review.
Also, to help facilitate our online learning options, we will be checking out chrome books to students in 3rd-5th grades. Please remember our online usage rules! You can come to the elementary building from 11:00AM-6:00PM on Monday and Tuesday to pick up your child’s chrome book. Unfortunately, we can only check out devices to the student or parent who will be responsible for the device. If these times don’t work with your schedule, please contact Ms. Ross via email at cross@chiltonisd.org. I will do my best to work with you!
Parents, thank you for all you are doing to support our students! If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email me or your child’s teacher. Additional ways to contact us will be on the district website very soon!!! Remember, we are here to support you so please let us know how we can help!!!!💙💙💙

Parents and Students,
Over the next few weeks our teachers will begin using Zoom to post direct instruction videos and conduct virtual office hours. Please see the attached video for guidance and stay tuned for additional details.

Pirate Nation,
Out of an abundance of caution and concern for the safety and well-being of our students and families, we have made the proactive decision to extend closure through Friday, March 27, 2020. Though we have no reported cases within the community, we do understand there are cases in neighboring counties. Even though we are extending campus closure, we cannot discontinue learning and student development. Though this situation presents a challenge to the Chilton ISD, I am certain that our institution will become stronger as a result of this situation.
Learning plans for the week of March 23, 2020 will be available online by Monday, March 23, 2020. Plans will also be available for pickup at 11:30 a.m. on March 23, 2020 during the lunchtime service. In the coming weeks, we will work to establish virtual office hours for each Chilton ISD educator to ensure that students and parents have access to teachers for clarification on assignments. Furthermore, we will begin posting teacher instructional videos to facilitate the completion of assignments.
Meal services will continue with breakfast served from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. daily on a grab and go basis. Lunch will also be available from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily.
Please consult the district website and social media for updated information regarding the closure.
Thank you for your cooperation and flexibility during these unprecedented times.
Per Aspera Ad Astra,

Good Evening All. For those Chilton ISD students living in Marlin, TX, we will have district administrators at the Marlin Dollar Tree on Tuesday, March 17, 2020 to distribute hard copies of the learning plans for the week of March 16. Administrators will be present at the Dollar Tree location from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm. Thanks again for your cooperation and flexibility.

Final One for Today:
Mr. Chance Bacon is a local Windstream representative and service provider. As many of us adapt to these adjustments, he is able to provide assistance with the following services:
Cable/Satellite (Direct, Dist, Grande, Spectrum)
Internet (Windstream/Viasat)
Phone Service (AT&T)
Security Monitoring (Vivint)
Electricity
He is able to provide assistance that will work around many hardships as we transition to a remote learning platform in many areas. Thank you Mr. Bacon for being an available community resource for the Chilton ISD.

Also, if you have specific questions regarding individual assignments, please email teachers directly. You can access teacher email addresses via the website by clicking the Menu Tab and then clicking the Staff button. Thanks for your cooperation in these matters.

Good Morning Pirate Nation,

If you are having hardship with retrieving hard copies of the assignments for this week, please email the elementary principal at cross@chiltonisd.org, secondary principal at jsharp@chiltonisd.org, or the superintendent at bhubbard@chiltonisd.org. In the coming weeks, and as protocol permits, we will set up after-hours virtual assistance for students during this period. Please stay tuned for additional details.

Day 1: Extended Break (March 16, 2020)
Alert Status: Level 1
As we enter day 1 of our extended break, we want to ensure that you are aware of our available services for students.
The Chilton ISD will offer Child Nutrition Services to all students within the community. Breakfast will be offered on a grab-and-go basis from 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. daily. Lunch will be provided on a grab-and-go basis from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. daily.
Additionally, the Chilton ISD is working to prepare and disseminate learning plans for all students within the district. These plans will be available online at the Chilton ISD website under the documents tab and in the COVID-19 Folder. There will be also be hard copies available for those who prefer hard copies. Plans will be posted and available for pick-up by 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2020. In order to ensure that we are not required to make up this week of attendance, the Chilton ISD must provide learning opportunities for all students. We are working to better refine this process as we are moving into uncharted territory. However, I am confident that the administrative team and our teachers will develop plans to provide the best opportunities for our students. Thanks for your cooperation and flexibility. We will continue to keep you informed.

Good Afternoon Pirate Nation. Given the recommendation of state and national leaders, we will extend Spring Break through Friday, March 20, 2020. We will meet with district leadership this afternoon to release more specific plans as it relates to our closure, feeding opportunities, and learning opportunities for students during this closure. Please stay tuned for additional information regarding this extended closure. As the concern is preventing the spread of illness, we encourage parents and students to monitor travel and activity to decrease additional exposure. Thanks for your cooperation and understanding.

The Chilton ISD continues to monitor developments as it relates to the Coronavirus. We are aware of today's news of statewide event cancelations and universities extending spring break vacations. At this time, based on guidance from regional and state officials, we will continue on our regular schedule. We will continue to monitor develops and alert you of any changes. Thank you for your patience and cooperation during this time.
