Chilton, TX, February 25, 2022 – Chilton ISD announced that Chris James, a Chilton ISD alumnus, has resigned from his fourteen-year tenure as a teacher, coach, and, most recently, athletic director, effective June 30, 2022. In his statement, James explained that after progressing through the coaching ranks in Chilton ISD, he is looking forward to pursuing his passion of becoming an entrepreneur. The Chilton ISD wishes to express our sincere appreciation to Coach Chris James for his unwavering dedication to the students, staff, and community. We wish Coach James success in every future endeavor.
Coach Bennie Huitt will assume responsibilities of Head Coach and Athletic Director. A formal search for a permanent replacement will begin immediately.
