For immediate release: Proposition includes additions and renovations to both the high school and elementary, and for a new gym, cafeteria and weight room.
The Chilton ISD school board has voted unanimously to accept the recommendation of the CISD Facility Committee and called a $28.9 million bond election to be held on May 7.
Beginning in 2021, the CISD Facility Committee, comprised of community members, business owners, parents and CISD staff, evaluated various options and possibilities for the students of CISD.
The bond package includes additions and renovations at the elementary and high school campus, the current cafeteria to increase seating capacity and future construction of a multipurpose building that would include a Cafetorium, competition gymnasium with locker rooms and weight room. The additions and renovations would accommodate the growing student population of the district.
Election Day is set for Saturday, May. 7 and early voting runs from April 25 through May 3.
