Dear Parents,
We are holding a Summer Reading Challenge this summer. It is important that your child continues to read over the summer, because when a skill, like reading, is not practiced your child’s skills decline. Your child has worked so hard this year to make progress, you do not want them to go backwards. Reading 20 minutes a day is enough to keep those skills sharp.
The Summer Reading Challenge will begin July 5 and Bingo cards will need to be returned to school on August 6. If you would like to pick up a hard copy, please come by the elementary school office and pick one up on July 8, if you are unable to pick up, the Bingo Challenge card will be available online for you to print at https://core-docs.s3.amazonaws...
If your child completes three lines of bingo and returns it to school on August 6, then they will earn a prize; if they complete the whole card, they win an additional prize! For each activity, your child completes please initial the box they have completed and for activities that require a photo please email pictures to bwilliams@chiltonisd.org with the name of activity and the child’s name. For activities that require a written response please keep track of activities on a paper and submit with bingo card on the 6th of August. In addition to the Reading Bingo Challenge Card, there will also be a Summer Reading Log sheet, please write down the title of the books read as well as the minutes read for each and initial or sign each line. Please return reading logs on August 6 as well.
