Black History Month, created by Carter G. Woodson, originally Negro History week, celebrates the prominent role of African-Americans in United States history. Black History Month is also celebrated in Canada and the United Kingdom.
Black History Month has inspired schools and communities across the nation to organize celebrations and performances. In that spirit, the Chilton ISD will recognize Black History Month with presentations focusing on HBCUs, Unity, and the Strength in Diversity.
