A message for Chilton ISD paraprofessional staff:
The Chilton ISD Grow Your Own program provides tuition assistance and support to help recruit, retain, and train future teachers and professionals for the Chilton ISD. The program encourages paraprofessionals, instructional assistants, and long-term substitutes to obtain a bachelor's degree and/or teacher certification to pursue a career in education. This program will cover the tuition cost and required fees, including textbooks and laboratory fees, for two courses per semester for participants earning their bachelor's degree. The program will cover up to $5,500 for participants seeking certification only.
Participants must maintain a GPA of 2.5 and must take a minimum of 6 hours of coursework per semester. Participants only completing alternative certification must meet all certification requirements and pass the TExES certification assessment within one calendar year of the start date.
