The Granger Independent School District informed us that the Williamson County Environmental Health Services issued a public notice that the West Nile virus had been detected in the Granger area. The Granger Independent School District, City of Granger, and the Williamson County Environmental Health services have assured us that they are taking every possible precaution to eliminate the increasing mosquito populations. However, in an effort to be transparent, we would like to share the information with you so that you can make the necessary decisions and adjustments on behalf of your student.
Those attending the football game are urged to do the following:
- Wear protective clothing (long-sleeve shirts, socks, pants, and closed-toe shoes)
- Refrain from wearing bright colors because they attract mosquitoes
- Use mosquito wipes and spray as an additional repellant
The Chilton ISD will have repellant available for student-athletes, coaches, sponsors, and fans at the game tomorrow evening. If your student has any allergies to repellant, please discuss with your child since repellant and wipes will be accessible to all attending the game. In addition, we are anticipating cooler temperatures tomorrow evening, thereby, decreasing activity in the area.
If you have any additional questions, please contact Mr. Brandon Hubbard at 254-546-1227.
